“I think it’s a fine thing that a man on the doorstep of death can still look at a woman like me with what I call deserved appreciation.”
— Maggie the cat, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Sadly the rainy day clouded up a bit more this morning, as we lost one of the of the silver screen’s grandest of ladies — Miss Elizabeth Taylor has died at age 79. Just this weekend I showed a friend of mine Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,  so today’s news took me a bit by surprise — she’s been on my mind during the last few weeks, since I’m right in the middle of drafting a new piece on one of her earlier films.

There’s too much to say about her, and I’m sure it will all be said in the next few weeks . . . my advice is to let her speak for herself: Elizabeth Taylor on Netflix.

Thanks for it all, Miss Taylor!
